Knitting 8

Here is this weeks knitting, well actually this weeks and last weeks. I found out, now that spring is here and I’m going to be outside more. Gardening manly I’m not going to be able too get all the knitting done that I have been. So I won’t be posting it as often. Unless of course we have a lot of rainy days this year that end up keeping me in doors a lot.

I was able to get 15 swatches knitted up so that isn’t too bad. So now I’m up to 75 completed swatches. Still a long way to go but I’m getting there.

Knitting 7

Here we are close tot the end of March and I have been working on my knitting goal for about six weeks or so. In that time I have completed sixty swatches. I have been enjoying the creativeness with knitting the swatch and the challenges have just pushed me even more to figure them out. I hope you enjoy them. Yes I know it’s not Monday, that’s my new goal to get back on schedule with posting.

Knitting 6

Sorry I didn’t get this weeks knitting posted on Monday. I haven’t been feeling well. That time of year for sinus problems. I did get ten more swatches knitted up, so I’m up to 50 of them being made. Not counting what I have knitted this week. And here I was thinking I would only get five done a week. Well maybe during the summer that will happen with being in the garden and out doors more, we’ll have to wait and see.

Cables and Arans 4

I’m sorry for not getting a chance to post my knitting last week. Life just some times gets in the way. I really hate when that happens :p I do have ten more samples knitted up, you can check out the picture. I am working on a new weaving project. So I hope, if all goes well I will have that all done this week. I also need to get my seeds started. But I need to wait until nest week to get all the stuff I need. Money is short this week.

So in the next couple of weeks I should have a lot to blog about. Cool because that means that I have been doing a lot of work. O ya one more thing this weather better warm up, we had a really nice day about a week or so a go, it was up close to sixty degrees and of course now its back to being really cold.

If you couldn’t tell I don’t care that it’s February in PA when it’s supposed to be cold. I prefer it to be a little warmer and no I’m not moving to a place that it is warmer that’s no fun then I wouldn’t have anything to complain about.

Cables and Arans 3

This weeks Cables and Arans are done, I like doing the ones with a three dimensional effect to them, like the cables or most of the ones pictured here. These are from top to bottom and left to right. Arched cables, mock cable wide rib, ascending fern, floating snake pattern, open honeycomb, floating leaves and centered cables.

Cables and Arans

One of my goals for this year was to practice knitting. I have a very large book of 250 Cable and Aran patterns. This book is rightfully called Cables and Arans 250 stitches to knit, edited by Erika Knight published by Interweave Press. When I saw the book I new I wanted it and saved up to get a copy. I will say I have had it almost a year and haven’t really done much out of it.

Until now that is, I finally got time to start knitting from the book. My goal is to knit a new sample each day; I wasn’t that successful last week so I only have four done. None the less that is a start and in fact I will probable only ever be able to get five done in a week. Two days are days of running around with friends or resting or both depending on how the day goes.

I will try to blog my weekly knitting achievements for you all to look at and I will also try to get it up to seven days a week.
